Tonka model #3915 Mighty Dump was a one year only model manufactured for Target stores across the USA. Special graphics for the sides of the cab wrap and chassis were used. The Mighty Dump with its orange cab wrap, roof and dump box, black steel chassis and grey 5 lug hubs, would appear to have been more at home on the shelves of your local Home Depot. Production numbers are not known at this time. If the model number looks familiar, it was assigned to the 1969 - 1981 Mighty Wrecker. |

1999 marked the last year the Mighty series was featured in the Hasbro dealer catalog. The Mighty Tonka series, as we have known it since 1964, was occupying minimal shelf space at our favorite toy retailer. However, in 2000, Hasbro brought the Mighty Tonka series back for a short one year run. There appears to be conflicting information as to who sold the Euclid green Mightys and in what part of the U.S.A. First reports indicated they were only sold on the west coast. Later there were reports of the evasive green Mighty being sold in the midwest. I never did receive feedback that the 2000 Mighty was sold on the east coast. Since the green Mighty Tonkas were not in the Hasbro dealer catalog, for the time being, let's consider them special order not a standard product.
If you have confirming information as to who and how these Mighty Tonkas were distributed, please contact the webmaster. I also need to know if models other than the Mighty Crane and Dump were available.
In 2004, one of the wildest Mighty Dumps ever was manufactured and sold exclusively through Toys R Us. By 2004, Hasbro was well established and sourcing Tonka trucks from China. Based on the downsized model #3901 Mighty Dump of 1983, the very colorful model #93904 Mighty Blaze Dump was quickly sold out and inevitability became a staple on auction websites. The hot rod dump also has some historical significance in that it was the first production Mighty to use a masking process that allowed for the red over yellow paint scheme. Note: First Mighty, not the first Tonka. Tonka used masking as early as 1949 on their Regular series model #140 Tonka Transport. | ![]() 2004 #93904 Mighty Blaze Dump for Toys R Us |

The Mighty Tonka series had been in a self induced coma for about 5 years, the Mighty Blaze Dump of 2004 not withstanding. Hasbro decision makers must have used consumer surveys and modern day analytics and determined that there was a market for the old style Mighty Tonka. In 2005, Hasbro gave us the "CLASSICS" Mighty Tonka. Four trucks made up the series, the Mighty Dump. Mighty Loader, Mighty Crane and Mighty Backhoe. The blue shaded cab graphics with a yellow and blue Tonka oval over the word "CLASSICS" make this series easily identifiable |

In 2007, Hasbro released another run of Mighty Tonkas in celebration of Tonka's 60th Anniversary. In 1947, the very first Mound Metalcraft (Tonka) toys ran down the assembly line and into toy history. Four trucks were released in 2007 and all are displayed here. Except for the cab graphics, the trucks themselves are look-a-likes to the "CLASSICS" series issued in 2005. The graphics feature a blue shaded background with the Tonka oval in red and white.
